“No, You” Theology

“No, You” Theology

Four-term LCMS President Matt Harrison has racism on his mind lately. Half of his posts on the Reporter website in the last six months have been on the topic. On August 29, 2022, Matt posted his latest meandering thoughts on the subject. This essay will put his rambling post in context to reveal how profoundly un-Christian are his words. Matt writes:

Racism is a reality. In our ever more sin-sick world, incidents like the crazed and premeditated murders in Buffalo, N.Y., which took the lives of beloved fathers, mothers, sons and daughters just because they were black, plague us. The perpetrator was both mentally ill and racist. We are reminded of the racist sins of the previous generations even as we face present racism. The sin of racism is not simply something “out there.” Sin, including racism, is an ever-present reality to which we are all susceptible because of our sinful nature. Everyone has the sinful propensity to pre-judge and mistreat other children of God based upon their skin color, culture or some other difference we perceive. But “God shows no partiality” (Acts 10:34; Rom. 2:11).

I was deeply confused when reading this. I remembered that there had been a crime in Buffalo in the national news a while back, but had something else happened there? A few minutes of searching confirmed that, no, he wasn’t talking about anything new. While there is nothing wrong with cherrypicking an example to make a point, this one is quite revealing. You see, Matt had already posted about Buffalo as soon as it happened.

There is another racially motivated mass murderer in the news this week that we should care about. Anti-White African-American terrorist Darrel Brooks, who murdered six and seriously injured 30 Whites at the Waukesha Christmas parade, was dragged from court after an angry outburst. Curiously, Matt never blogged about the Waukesha massacre. This is despite the fact that one of the murdered was an LCMS Lutheran, and several of the seriously injured were LCMS or WELS. Waukesha is in fact the home of WELS. It is also an area nearly as White as our Synods, which is precisely why the African race warrior Brooks targeted its Christmas celebration for mass slaughter.

Why did Matt completely ignore this Satanic blood sacrifice? Perhaps it is because it fails his test for caring about racism: “the crazed and premeditated murders in Buffalo, N.Y., which took the lives of beloved fathers, mothers, sons and daughters just because they were black…” Keep in mind this heavily implied frame of “it’s only racist if White people do it.” We’ll come back to this Marxist undercurrent later. Note that his hand-wringing non-sequitur about Buffalo has nothing to do with the rest of the post. He just needed something to emotionally prime you with a reminder that racism is the worst and most hurtful sin ever in the history of sins, and wherever racism goes, only death and suffering can possibly result.

Many, including some in the LCMS, have embraced a response to racism similar to that advocated by Ibram X. Kendi in his 2019 book, How to Be an Antiracist. In his book, Kendi asserts that the claim to not be racist or state “I am not racist” is not sufficient and even betrays a racist attitude. One must be “antiracist” by actively opposing racist policies. In Chapter 1, Kendi states, “A racist is someone who is supporting a racist policy by their actions or inaction or expressing a racist idea.”

After establishing his own bona fides as as anti-racist crusader, Matt is going to spend much of his essay condemning Kendi for failing to be a godly anti-racist crusader like himself. This sentence is truly amazing: “Many, including some in the LCMS, have embraced a response to racism similar to that advocated by Ibram X. Kendi.” Boomers have no concept of frame whatsoever. They glibly cede moral high ground to the enemy, just so they can beat their chests and proclaim they are more righteous. That’s what Matt has done here. By framing the entire discussion in terms of two different responses to racism, Matt has unwittingly lost the war before the first shot is fired. You see, it is the Kendi’s of the world who brought us the “sin of racism” in the first place. Matt’s ham-fisted question-begging title “The sin of racism: A Gospel response” hands Kendi the ultimate win regardless of anything he says afterwards. We’ll get to how later.

Kendi casts a very wide net. He asserts that aspects of President Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” promoted racist policies. He asserts that the great W.E.B. Du Bois promoted a racist idea when he argued that black Americans should assimilate into the larger culture. He asserts that Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama promoted racist views for calling on the black community to concentrate on creating stronger families (a challenge shared by all of us). Kendi also asserts that “tough on crime” legislation and efforts to defend religious freedom are inherently racist.

“The great W.E.B. Du Bois” was not a Christian. To the contrary, he was openly and aggressively anti-Christian, condemning the Church as the most discriminatory of all institutions. He condemned even African-American churches for failing to advance “racial equality.” The man was also an open and ardent Communist, celebrating mass murderers like Stalin, as well as the Communist rule of China and the USSR. He was unequivocally a lifelong servant of Satan. No Christian can possibly call Du Bois “great.” What the Hell, Matt.

In Chapter 15, Kendi asserts that “homophobia” and “transphobia” are racist. The church does not fear homosexual or trans people. The church preaches repentance and faith to all people according to God’s Word. We are all sinners. We all need the forgiveness of Jesus promised and delivered in the Gospel.
Kendi says “patriarchy” is racist (that includes churches like the LCMS that have a male-only clergy). Women who support such systems are also racist. Any refusal to support the current global warming agenda is likewise racist because, he opines, the effects of global warming most intensely affect peoples of the Global South. Kendi says standardized tests are racist. He also accuses of racism any black person who does not concur with his approach. In a video, he asserted that Christian missions are illegitimate, since they are the attempt of white missionaries to force Africans and others to acquiesce to white standards of morality.

That last sentence is rich considering this is the official position of the Northwest District of the LCMS. In the linked video from this year’s district convention, CSL ’20 “certified” Rick McCafferty (that’s his English name) describes in detail how the demon worshipping Indians actually were worshipping “the Creator since we’ve been here on this continent. The Creator is everywhere. The Creator is in our people, the Great Spirit, who is the Holy Spirit. What was missing was the mighty warrior, the warrior that was sent to be able to die for his people. And his name was Yeshua. They call him Jesus.” The “they” here is of course the White oppressor class. Rick goes on to complain that the White man told them to stop worshipping “god” as they knew it in the old ways, and to adopt “White” practices. Forget Kendi’s bitching about White standards of morality. Here we see Rick and the Northwest DP Paul Linnemann pushing the ball across the finish line of full-blown Universalism and the eternal damnation that accompanies it. Rick is going to Hell if this remains his confession. How many other pastors and laymen in the Northwest District and the rest of Synod will join him? This is not a rhetorical question, and the answer is not zero. Does anyone care?

My deepest concern is that Kendi promotes a virulently anti-Christian philosophy. Can you imagine St. Paul preaching in the sex-crazed world of the Gentiles of his time without the call for repentance, especially for sexual immorality? (Romans 1–2; see also Acts 15, where the Apostolic Council wisely refused to impose the Mosaic law upon converts but urged the abstaining from sexual immorality). There is no room in Kendi’s “antiracism” for God’s Law or the one truth of the Gospel for all people. There is no room for the clear teaching of Holy Scripture on matters of marriage and sexuality.
What bothers me most is that this philosophy teaches that every Bible-believing Christian, or anyone who holds virtually any conservative view, is racist. That is not true or acceptable. Least of all is it acceptable in the church’s schools and institutions. Should Kendi be read and studied? To be sure, since his voice is popular and influential. But we must set forth biblical truth on these and all matters. We need to continue to articulate and act on a truly God-pleasing approach that condemns all sin, including racism, and articulates God’s love in Christ for all. We must continue to treat all people as God’s creatures, taking seriously sin and grace…

Look where Matt retreats in the face of this concerted demonic attack by Kendi: “What bothers me most is that this philosophy teaches that every Bible-believing Christian, or anyone who holds virtually any conservative view, is racist. That is not true or acceptable.” Pay close attention to his framing. Kendi has a philosophy. Conservative views are under philosophical and political attack. What is absent? Christianity! Somehow Matt can only see religion on his side of the war. Kendi uses the Mortal Sin of Racism as the solvent to dissolve the family, sexual morality, biological sex, patriarchy, private property–which is the clear target of the global warming hoax–and last but not least: the spread of the Gospel itself. And what does Matt do? He agrees 100% with Kendi that racism is a sin that nails Christ to the Cross. So of course he must be genuinely confused how the newfound doctrine of racism could possibly be used to mount an attack against “every Bible-believing Christian” and the very pillars of Creation itself.

Well I’m here to tell you why Matt is so catastrophically wrong. That is literally the entire point of the Satanically concocted modern “sin” of racism. The reason that Kendi deploys racism as a solvent against all Scriptural beliefs is not because he is misusing the Christian doctrine of racism; Kendi is correctly applying the Satanic doctrine of racism, to the desired ends of his master.

Neither Matt nor any of the other boomer thralls of this pagan age will ever be able to explain to you how it is that they hold a morality identical to that of the most outspoken anti-Christians, sodomites, literal Satanists, and every other flavor of evil today. Matt wants the remaining Christians in the LCMS to believe that ELCA is correct about racism, but somehow nothing else. When Jeffrey Dahmer was on trial, the only time he spoke out to correct the record was when he was accused in the press of racism in his victimology. He wasn’t embarrassed of being a rapist, a sodomite, a cannibal, a necrophiliac, and a murderer. But he was utterly mortified that anyone might think he was racist. Racism was the worst sin in Dahmer’s religion.

Matt shares Dahmer’s religion. How is that even possible? How does a moral tenet that was discovered in the last century cut across both God’s putatively staunchest servants and His most wicked and depraved enemies? This is a deadly serious question. If morality comes from God, and racism is the moral law, then how do the very most evil people on the planet live and act in accord with God’s eternal Will on this one matter alone? And furthermore, how do Satan’s children use God’s eternal Will of hating racism successfully to destroy family, sex, morality, the Nations, and the very spread of the Gospel? We have well-respected pastors on the roster who go around freely accusing men like Chrysostom, Luther, and Walther of unrepentant racism. Should we believe those men are burning in Hell? How can we not? Sure they all committed a sin that wasn’t discovered (by pagans) until the 20th century, but if it’s God’s eternal Will, they have no excuse, do they?

Let’s return to where Kendi and the ravenous wolf Rick McCafferty agree. Kendi and Rick condemn “the attempt of White missionaries to force Africans and others to acquiesce to White standards.” Although Matt omits the term from his excerpts, Kendi and his co-conspirators frequently speak against the original sin at the root of all racism: colonialism. That is what this sentence is actually describing. The fundamental premise of the “Global South” talk employed by God’s enemies and Synod officials is that when the White man came from Europe to every corner of the globe, he made things far worse because racism. The White colonizer brought slavery, warfare, disease, death, and forced conversion to Christianity to the peaceful natives of the “Global South,” in a wave of evil never seen on Earth before or since.

“Today, a historic shift is occurring. Christianity is moving away from the Global North (primarily Europe and North America) to the Global South (Africa, Asia and Latin America),” explains the Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison in his introduction to the newly released June 2015 Journal of Lutheran Mission.

The Christian name for the “Global South” is Satan’s kingdom, as opposed to Christendom, which has historically been almost entirely European. For Christians who actually believe Scripture, it is an undeniable fact that in the 4,000 years between Ham’s children’s decent into Africa and the arrival of the first White (Christian) colonizers (missionaries) in the 1500s, virtually every sub-Saharan African who ever lived is in Hell. By God’s grace, there has long remained a small remnant of the Faith in what is today Ethiopia and Sudan. As for the rest of Africa, virtually every soul on the entire enormous continent has been in animist communion with demons for four millennia, other than the northern parts where Christianity was utterly extinguished and replaced by Satan’s standing army of Islam.

Asia too has been almost wholly Satan’s kingdom since the Tower of Babel. With the exception of the tiny sliver of Christianity on the coast of India as a result of Thomas the Apostle’s mission, virtually all of what we think of today as Asia has been damned. Nestorianism did make long-term inroads as far as China, where it remained until the 13th century. Nestorianism is rightly condemned as a damnable heresy. But the Word of God was spoken among those people. We will have to die in order to find out whether any of the Elect were among their numbers.

The Americas managed to be in even worse spiritual shape than Africa, because only pagans ever traveled here in the first place. If we believe Scripture, we must confess that every Indian who ever lived–including all of Rick’s Eskimo and Cherokee ancestors–are damned. These savage Nations spent thousands of years in intimate communion with the demons charged with the rule of these continents. Their mental, physical, and spiritual states bear witness to the sins of their fathers for 120 generations.

What colonialism brought to Satan’s kingdom was the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For the very first time in 4,000 years, Satan began to lose some of these non-White souls to their Creator. Were many of those conversions “forcible?” Yes, and so what? What do we think it actually means when Paul baptized entire households? Did he secure the affirmative consent of every child and slave? Nonsense. The father rules the household and all those under him. His household was baptized (converted) by his decree. The same is true of Europe herself. Yes, there were itinerant missionaries whose efforts bore fruit. But overwhelmingly the conversion of every last European Nation to Christianity occurred by the decree of its godly King, a man who rules his Nation in the same manner and by the same authority that the father rules his household. Europe became Christendom as a direct result of “forced conversions,” and God blessed our fathers for 50 generations for their faithfulness

When the “colonizers” came to Africa and the Americas in the name of God and King, it was sometimes as explorers, but more often as conquerors. We have been trained by this pagan age to hiss and seethe at these words, no matter how Christian we pretend to be. In Scripture, when God gave over a pagan land to His holy people, it was a Divine blessing. But today Satan has us all convinced that when the very same thing happened to Christendom, it was the most profound evil. Well, yes, it was evil for Satan. He began losing souls that had belonged to him since Babel. His demons began losing territory. The altars and idols Rick’s ancestors erected to Satan’s minions were cast down and destroyed, as God commands on pain of death. The conquered Nations of the Americas were in many cases forcibly converted to Christianity, as is the right and duty of every godly Prince.

Above is the Christian confession. Below is the anti-racist Marxist’s creed. Both describe identical historical events. Each of these segments is one battle in this war against Satan’s resurgent kingdom. It is utterly impossible to mix and match any of the words above with those below. And yet that is what boomers like Matt are desperately trying to do. This is Matt’s confession: “White Colonizers spread the Gospel to the Global South through racist oppression.” And he’s half in the bag for the cruelly subjugated bit too.

Let’s analyze that sequence in reverse to see where Matt’s concession to the frame of the demonic “sin of racism” inevitably leads. Racism is the original sin of America as both Kendi and Matt confess. In order for there to be racism, there must necessarily be an oppressor and an oppressed, and we must critically analyze history to determine the class distinctions. If you know anything about Marxism, you are having a vigorous case of déjà vu right now. And this is how racism is the solvent that dissolves both the Church and Creation. To the pagan, the anti-racist cries appeal to a childish sense of justice. To the Christian, the anti-racist cries are transformed before our very eyes into jesus-flavored demands for “love”. For anyone to oppose either on any grounds makes him a monster beyond saving.

So now that Matt and the Marxists have firmly placed The Sin of Racism on the table, critical analysis demands that we find the oppressor class and the oppressed class. Obviously there can be no active sin without a victim, so we move one step to the left in the diagram to the Global South. If you are a Marxist like Matt, you are morally obligated by your god to see idyllic natives living peacefully in harmony with nature. If you are a Christian, you are morally obligated by God to see the savages of Satan’s kingdom as idolatrous, bloodthirsty enemies of God.

What happened to these idyllic peoples? Moving further left in the chart, they were of course cruelly subjugated. As the pagan wolf Rick attests, their perfectly legitimate practices of sunrise drum ceremonies to their gods are being oppressed to this day by Lutherans. And Rick demands for the sake of the “Gospel” that these demonic ceremonies be reinstituted. Du Bois and Kendi and Rick are all in lockstep agreement that the spread of the Gospel was a direct attack on the Nations whom Christians know had lost God for four thousand years. Can Matt credibly disagree at this point? He has conceded every other attack on Christendom, and in fact regularly joins in them. These hapless boomers really think the Creeds will protect them from apostasy when they deny God, His Law, and His Creation in every way necessary to placate this wicked age.

And finally all the way at the left, which class is the oppressor in this terrible scheme? It is of course the White colonizer: the source of all evil, and the justifiable object of all wrath. Satan’s armies have mobilized globally to defame, demoralize, and ultimately destroy Whites in every corner of the globe. “Anti-Whiteness” is literally the battle cry of Kendi’s side. Rather than Christians taking a real critical look at how we came to this point and who hates us, faithless boomers like Matt can only sputter one of two responses (and often they will use both even they are mutually exclusive as a matter of plain reason.) You will either hear “the left are the real racists” (as Matt has done in this “No, you” screed) or “there isn’t even any such thing as White!” Both concede the Adversary’s frame, and both lose the war without firing a shot.

Let’s briefly examine the Christian case in the same light: Christendom spread the Gospel to Satan’s kingdom in Christian obedience. It was undeniably obedience to God for Whites to spread the Gospel in the pagan lands we conquered. These pagan lands were undeniably Satan’s kingdom for thousands of years. The spread of the Gospel was undeniably one of the chief aims of the conquerors. Yes, they also sailed for money and glory and power. They were not perfect, but they were overwhelmingly Christian, and they acted for God and King. And lastly, they were Christendom, and this is the point that sets everyone’s hair on fire.

Spend five minutes watching the video below. It meticulously documents the spread of Christianity from 1000 AD until today. The reason that it is zoomed in on Europe for the first 500 years is that virtually every Christian who has ever lived was European. When it zooms out at 1492 at the beginning of the Conquests (inset pic), you can see the tiny section of Africa and the thin sliver of India where God preserved Christianity through the ages. In literally every other corner of the globe outside of White lands, the Gospel had been extinguished, and everyone went to Hell.

This is the part of Christianity that we are terrified to discuss today: Election is not fair. Everybody wants to quote the first part of this passage from Exodus 34, but it mysteriously gets cut short half-way through in nearly ever modern retelling.

The LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. The LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.

It is simultaneously true that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, and that many are called, but few are chosen. From Jacob’s day until Christ’s birth, Israel was virtually the sum total of the Elect. Salvation was limited largely along racial lines, and we must understand why. That portion of Abraham’s descendants who were obedient to the Lord circumcised their sons and raised them in the Faith, and their inheritance was Salvation. That portion of Abraham’s descendants, and Shem’s, and Ham’s, and Japheth’s who were disobedient to the Lord did not pass along the Faith, and almost without exception it is written that their sons became unbelieving pagans as a result, and received their just damnation.

This is why fathers matter so much. Even the modern pseudoscience of demography can detect that without faithful fathers, children virtually never remain Christian. God visits the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children. It isn’t fair by our depraved modern standards. But it is just and holy, and our refusal to confess it and to address how it applies to history marks us as a faithless and wicked generation.

I claimed a moment ago that virtually every Christian who ever lived was European. This is a scandalous and infuriating claim, and will surely cause some to call me among the wickedest of all men. But I did the math, simply because that Spread of Christianity video above made me curious. If you think the truth is wicked, then let’s agree not stand near each other on Judgment Day. I spent a few hours looking up the best estimates for the total population of Europe (and later America) by century beginning in AD 700 through 1900. I then looked at roughly the number of countries that had converted by century. I then approximated what percent of the population was likely to be a Baptized Christian per century. The spreadsheet is ugly and not worth cleaning up, so I won’t show my work here. If someone else is curious, they’re welcome to do the leg work themselves. But I think that for wild guesses, these numbers are pretty plausible.

A few highlights to give a general sense of the curves:

  • AD 700, 31.5M souls, roughly 25% Christian, totaling 7.9M
  • AD 1000, 42M souls, roughly 85% Christian, totaling 35.7M
  • AD 1300, 60M souls, roughly 95% Christian, totaling 57M
  • AD 1600, 82.5M souls, roughly 95% Christian, totaling 78.4M
  • AD 1900, 316.2M souls, roughly 90% Christian, totaling 284.6M
  • Total of all enumerated centuries: approximately one billion Christians

Of course many people live and die between century marks, and lives are distributed randomly across them. I think a multiplier of 2.5 is a conservative estimate of what the total might look like across that time. And with higher infant mortality and fecundity, a multiplier of 5 would not surprise me. That would put the total number of White Christians in Heaven somewhere in the 2.5 to 5 billion range. This does not ignore Ethiopia, Sudan, and India. It simply demonstrates that those totals will be rounding errors by comparison. The entire population of the Ethiopian Empire in AD 1800 was below 3M. Regardless of the precision of my estimates, the orders of magnitude difference must necessarily hold. The same is also true even if the rate of apostasy among the Baptized populations is much higher than is assumed (entirely possible).

Okay, so who cares, right? Well this circles back to the central thrust of this Satanic attack along racial lines. Christendom is for all intents and purposes White. It is true that in the last century especially, that has changed. You can see an explosion in other lands at the tail end of that video, and that march of the Gospel has continued in the intervening century. But remember how that happened: colonialism! Every single place you find Christianity popping up in the timeline, it is because Whites have taken the Gospel with them to pagan, non-White lands. Thank God the Philippines are today 89% Christian (mostly Roman Catholic, but at least we can hope.) But let us also thank King Philip, for whom the entire non-White Nation is named. Without colonialism and the Gospel being spread by a godly regent, they too would be damned as were all of their ancestors before Whites arrived.

The point I am trying to hammer home here is a very simple one:

  • Satan hates the Gospel
  • Satan seeks to devour every soul
  • Whites overwhelmingly embraced the Gospel, rejecting Satan for nearly 1500 years
  • Whites spread the Gospel to every corner of the globe for 500 years, causing non-Whites to follow suit
  • Satan hates Whites for rejecting him and interfering with his near-global dominion
  • Every institution on the planet today, including LCMS Inc., is actively working to facilitate the destruction of Whites
  • Satan is the source of this hatred because it is rooted in hatred of God Himself

This is the root cause of why anyone is even talking about race today. This war is not over pagan-compatible conceptions of love or justice or neighbor. This is the gates of Hell striving mightily to prevail against God’s Church, seeking the final destruction of Christendom. The fact that Satan’s efforts are eternally futile does not slow him down one iota in this age. To the contrary, we are experiencing a quickening of Satan’s wrath against this dying world as Creation draws to a close.

Matt continues…

Kendi does not offer a prescription for the end of racism. In the end, he increases it. What he offers is a substitute religion that brooks no dissent from his views.

This is the sum total of his rebuttal: “No, you.” I’m not racist; you’re racist! This impulse is rampant among LCMS boomers. It’s the only move they know. Even though he finally states that Kendi is advocating a “substitute religion,” the rest of the essay demonstrates that he does not actually believe it, although it is true and crucial. Anti-racism is part of a religion, a real one. Marxist dialectical materialism is part of a religion, a real one. They are all ultimately downstream from tikkun olam, Talmudic Jewry’s “repair of the world.” Marx’s Jewish father was a post-Enlightenment political radical who filled his household with Jewish thought and values, despite ostensibly converting to Christianity. Marx synthesized these ideas with Hegel’s and produced a “new” religion that only appears superficially secular, while serving as a universal solvent for Christian Order, facilitating perpetual revolution, that is to say destruction. Matt is an adherent of this religion. Calling Kendi or anyone else racist is his confession of faith.

There is no one Christian policy or position on (much of) crime, poverty, state assistance, immigration, global warming, etc. That’s why the LCMS makes few statements on policy matters, but rather urges Christians to be good citizens and to act justly when they participate in the secular realm. Christians are free to make decisions that they believe are for the good of the world.

The Two Kingdoms dichotomy has been an unmitigated disaster since the Luciferian Enlightenment. The Kingdom of the Left (Hand of God, we always omit) can only function in a godly manner when the Princes fear God, as was generally the case during the age of European Christendom. Beginning with the American Revolution in 1775, European Nations one by one cast down their Kings in favor of the mob rule Matt glorifies. France soon followed suit in 1789, albeit in a vastly more evil form of revolt. By 1848, the paroxysm of demonic uprising reached a fever pitch in Europe. The death blow for all real monarchies was the Great War. By its end, democratically elected governments and women’s suffrage had become the virtually universal in the West.

Today we are of course morally obligated to celebrate all of this, without regard for the implications of casting morality–which must necessarily be eternal, as the only valid source for morality is God’s eternal Will–back through time where it cannot but condemn every Christian who came before us. But that doesn’t stop the boomer, who has been particularly engineered for the task.

Why does the Two Kingdoms dichotomy matter here? When Luther articulated his point, there were no mob-ruled Nations. There were only Princes. Luther advocated that God acts on the right hand through the Church for soteriological and sanctification ends. And on the left hand God acts temporally through Princes (and lesser magistrates). He ordained roles of explicit headship to preserve order and to care for His people materially. The majority rule of democracy and its cousin in drag republicanism are an abominable inversion of God’s hierarchy. “Well most people think we should” is not a godly basis for anything. Matt’s “Christian duty to do whatever you think is best” is jesus-flavored anarchy. The book of Judges ends with, “In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” I guess Matt thinks this is a high note.

A man’s duty is to faithfully rule those below him and to faithfully obey those above him. What we have lost in overthrowing the godly Princes is the joy and blessing of having a godly ruler over us. The false idol of democracy sweeps aside God’s left hand of patriarchal, hierarchical rule in favor of the fickle whims of the mob, of which we ourselves are a part. This lack of a true left hand is why Matt says here that we can basically just do whatever; we’re in charge.

Let’s review this doctrinal claim, “There is no one Christian policy or position on (much of) crime, poverty, state assistance, immigration, global warming, etc.” Starting with crime, is there a Christian policy or position on murder? God gives the eternal Law to Noah in Genesis 9:

Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed,
for God made man in his own image.

The death penalty appears nowhere on the LCMS website. Is this because this answer is so obvious that we are all in complete agreement that murderers shall be put to death? Something tells me the “comprehensively life-affirming” Jeff Gibbs strongly disagrees with God here. What about property crimes? What about the preservation of private property itself? We largely ignore that nearly the entire Second Table deals with private property, beginning with life in the 5th Commandment and ending with chattel property in the 10th. Does that necessitate that there is “one Christian policy or position” condemning Communism? Apparently not, considering we have open, unrepentant Communists as communicant members, like this one at Bryan Wolfmueller’s church.

Is there a “Christian policy or position on poverty or state assistance”? How about this one: “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” “But which kingdom is that,” asks the faithless Lutheran. The false idol of democracy replaces godly headship with diffusion of responsibility to the point that no one is responsible at all, and nothing ever actually has to happen. If we are not providing for our relatives, we are unrepentant sinners. That is the Christian position.

Is Scripture silent about “immigration”?

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place…

God tells us that He has determined the boundaries of the dwelling places of the Nations. Today due to hostile foreign influence and general intellectual bankruptcy, we claim to have no idea what “Nation” could possibly mean. That’s just whoever lives in a country, right? Unfortunately for the liars and obfuscators, words mean things, and the meaning of Nation is very plain:

c. 1300, nacioun, "a race of people, large group of people with common ancestry and language," from Old French nacion "birth, rank; descendants, relatives; country, homeland" (12c.) and directly from Latin nationem (nominative natio) "birth, origin; breed, stock, kind, species; race of people, tribe," literally "that which has been born," from natus, past participle of nasci "be born" (Old Latin gnasci), from PIE root gene- "give birth, beget," with derivatives referring to procreation and familial and tribal groups.

Only a liar or a fool will tell you that Nation does not refer to lineal, genetic, blood descent from father to son. It is one step removed from “natal,” and is the same root as gene, as in genealogy or genetics. This makes Nation explicitly and exclusively racial. There is no ontological possibility for such a thing as a “multi-racial Nation” or “changing one’s Nationality.” The latter is nothing less than trannyism on an equally fundamental level. Two Nations may occupy the same space for a time; the common term for that is “war.”

A common deception used to attack race is to argue, “well how can White be a race if German is a race? It doesn’t make any sense!” This reddit-tier discourse would be alien to any man 200 years ago, when Webster’s first dictionary had no trouble understanding the definition of race:

The lineage of a family, or continued series of descendants from a parent who is called the stock. A race is the series of descendants indefinitely. Thus all mankind are called the race of Adam; the Israelites are of the race of Abraham and Jacob. Thus we speak of a race of kings, the race of Clovis or Charlemagne; a race of nobles, etc.

White is the race of Japheth’s descendants who settled in Europe; European and White are plainly synonymous. White is not a new term invented by unreconstructed Southerners, nor by Charles Darwin. America’s very first immigration law, the Naturalization Act of 1790 limits citizenship to “free white persons… of good character.” No one was confused then what that meant. Anyone who feigns confusion now is either a tool or a hostile actor.

So God created the races of men beginning at Babel where He forced the faithless and disobedient sons of Shem, Ham, and Japheth to obey the repeated commandment to fill the Earth and subdue it. By confusing man’s language, God forced both dispersal and reproductive segregation, which soon lead to visibly and substantially different races. The fact that every man is descended from Adam and then Noah simply means that all of the vast genetic variation expressed today was contained within the genomes God gave each Father. The Old Testament is replete with physical descriptions of the various Nations with their distinctive racial characteristics. And those physically distinct races which were part of God’s plan from before eternity are preserved in Heaven, as they must be if the bodily Resurrection is true.

The sojourner who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. He shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him. He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. All these curses shall come upon you and pursue you and overtake you till you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that he commanded you.

Sojourner is a word that anti-Nationalists love to throw around. It sounds so romantic and Bibley, doesn’t it? But none of them want to talk about what it actually means. There are several different terms used in Scripture that are translated variously and often interchangeably as sojourner, stranger, and alien. While each has subtly different legal standing in Israel, they have one thing in common: the person does not belong there. The Hebrews were sojourners in Egypt for four centuries, yet somehow they never became Egyptian. And no, it had nothing whatsoever to do with the Covenant creating some supernatural exemption. They were aliens. They knew it. The Egyptians knew it. Anyone else who also visited Egypt and saw the two Nations coexisting recognized it plainly.

Scripture does have a great many passages that refer to how these transient aliens are to be treated. On one hand, they were not to be mistreated or denied legal standing. On the other hand, they were strictly forced to adhere to nearly all of the Levitical Laws. They were forbidden to worship their foreign gods, and they were to be stoned to death for blaspheming God. If someone wants to show me the “sojourner” advocate in America who would require that aliens renounce their foreign gods and abandon their foreign cultures before they are admitted, I will happily update this section. The rest are liars and hypocrites.

There is also the matter of legitimacy. We are subjected to a sleight of hand where the Biblical sojourner is presumptively identical to the Guatemalan or Somali or Indian “immigrant” on US soil today. This is pure question-begging, on multiple levels. Firstly, anyone who enters a country’s borders illegally is not an immigrant; they are a hostile foreign invader. The only treatment they deserve is physical removal, or death. In Israel, sojourner was a legal status. It did not automatically apply to just anyone who snuck in. If you disagree, email me your home address so that in Christian freedom I can sojourn in your living room at 2 a.m. at some future unannounced date. A man’s household is to be managed and protected no differently than a Prince’s territory. The only difference is a matter of scale.

Secondly, the typical heart-wrenching subset of “immigrants” we are subjected to is “refugees.” Advocates for White replacement will make every effort to trick you into believing they are nearly always the same thing. These are people whose races have destroyed their own countries, and would love the winning lottery ticket of US citizenship. But that isn’t what refugee means. If your house catches fire in the middle of the night, you don’t seek refuge four thousand miles away. You go to your next door neighbor and ask for help. America was uniquely blessed by God to be physically isolated by two vast oceans from virtually every other Nation on Earth. It has granted us peace and prosperity unparalleled in human history. It also means we have virtually no neighbors. There are two (2) countries on the planet whose people even have the first order justification to ask to seek refuge here. Everyone else is not a refugee; they are economic parasites. If it was only trouble they were fleeing, they would go to their neighbors.

Thirdly, US immigration policy itself has been taken over by foreigners. The 1790 rule of free White men of good character was effectively preserved until 1965, when the Hart-Celler Immigration and Nationality Act (sic). Emanuel Celler, the Jewish grandchild of immigrants, who devoted his entire lengthy career in Congress to opening the floodgates to non-Whites like his own family. As a result of this total inversion of historic American policies on who may be admitted, to call any immigrant today presumptively legitimate is to beg the question. At no point from the establishment of the first European colonies in the Americas in the 1500s until the last century was anyone confused we were not a White Nation, or that “to ourselves and our Posterity” in the Preamble to the US Constitution didn’t refer exclusively to the White race.

Let’s look at that Deuteronomy passage once more.

This very much describes America today, where Asian and Indian immigrants have vastly more per capita wealth than the native population, and where our political and other ruling institutions are becoming dominated by non-Whites. We are told in soothing tones that this is diversity and it is enriching. To the contrary, God calls it His divine curse upon a faithless people, which most assuredly describes us too. When America was populated almost exclusively by White Christians, we were blessed with seemingly limitless peace and prosperity. As we have willingly abandoned both in pursuit of foreign gods and false idols, God has given us over to our depraved desires, and cursed us with the aliens we have permitted. The temporal consequences of sin are virtually always the natural result of the act, and that rule holds true with immigration, where alien populations correlate directly with disruption, unrest, and outright violence. If Matt can’t find any Christian doctrine here, he should sell his enormous Crucifix to someone who doesn’t bring shame to it.

Some ask what the LCMS is doing about racism. The most important thing we do and have done is teach our people that racism is sinful and that God loves all people in Christ. Since the 1950s, the LCMS has specifically rejected discrimination and racism no fewer than 39 times in convention. The Synod has officially rejected segregated housing and many other racist practices. Have we always lived up to God’s intention in this matter? Certainly not. God’s Law demands perfection and always condemns. But we continue to call all to repent, to be forgiven in Christ, to move forward in love and respect, and to act as responsible Christians and citizens. I urge you all to read Racism and the Church by our own Commission on Theology and Church Relations.

“Since the 1950s” is very interesting timing. The Statement of the Forty-Four in 1945 laid bare the slow-motion apostasy within the LCMS that came to its first climax in Seminex three decades later. Much of the so-called theology produced by the LCMS since then has been absolute trash. Walther would not recognize it or us as Lutheran, and if we were at least decent human beings we would have the courage to admit it. For Matt to appeal to this shameful period is sad but unsurprising. I trust neither popes nor councils for they often erred. But I guess democratic votes at convention are infallible, despite how frequently they have contradicted themselves year over year.

The 1994 CTCR’s “Racism and the Church” is an intellectually and theologically bankrupt mark of shame from one of the most liberal and depraved periods in our Synod’s storied history. I urge you all to read the (rare) minority report from within the CTCR by MacKenzie, Schurb, Voels, and Nagel. The tone and spirit of the two documents could not be more radically at odds. These CTCR members who failed to prevail against the majority (yay democracy) corrected the record for the sake of those Christians with ears to hear. For Matt to uphold the primary document’s grievous errors is sadly consistent with everything else about him at this point.

I also encourage you to buy Luther’s Small Catechism with Explanation (2017) from Concordia Publishing House. In the explanation section following Luther’s Small Catechism, the discussion concerning the Fifth Commandment (You shall not murder) offers compelling texts of Scripture that preclude all violence and encourage love and care for our neighbor. Here’s what the catechism explanation on the Fifth Commandment says about racism in particular:
Question 62. How does this commandment apply to some specific issues today?
E. It forbids hating, despising, or slandering other groups of people (prejudice, racism, and so forth).
  • Acts 17:26 God made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and boundaries of their dwelling place.
  • James 2:1 My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • 1 John 3:15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
  • Revelation 5:9 And they sang a new song, … saying, “You were slain, and by Your blood You ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.”

Wait, since when does Scripture “preclude all violence”? This is a bald-faced lie from the pit of Hell. Matt has become a ravenous wolf in pursuit of his new religion. He spews lies in every direction, without regard for how his false words nail Christ to the Cross. And yet again we see him attempting to staple the Satan-originated “sin” of racism to violence, apart from any evidence, just as in the opening paragraph. This is the thought process of a man who has become deaf to the Holy Spirit.

As to this recent addition to the increasingly inaccurately named Small Catechism, God’s prohibition of murder “forbids hating, despising, or slandering other groups of people (prejudice, racism, and so forth).” Do the anonymous authors of this unsubstantiated blurb reject Psalm 139, in which hatred of a group of people is done with an appeal to a clean conscience?

Oh that you would slay the wicked, O God!
O men of blood, depart from me!
They speak against you with malicious intent;
your enemies take your name in vain.
Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against you?
I hate them with complete hatred;
     I count them my enemies.
Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Do they reject Titus 1?

For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party. They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach. One of the Cretans, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, not devoting themselves to Jewish myths and the commands of people who turn away from the truth.

The passage from James regarding partiality does indeed describe a sin, but it is plainly not a 5th Commandment violation. The sin of partiality has nothing whatsoever to do with hatred. It is exclusively about favoritism. The irony of them gloming these verses together is that James goes on a short while later to–by their enumerated standards–commit murder! “Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who drag you into court?” This cannot be parsed as anything other than the very despising, slandering, and pre-judging of other people they use as the definition. The reason these men’s arguments are incoherent is that they are lies. They are jugglers of imaginary sins who lob random prooftexts at unsuspecting laity in hopes of binding consciences to deadly, devilish schemes.

Our teaching on racism and other issues is rooted deeply in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In fact, the Bible contains the strongest antiracist teaching in the history of the world:

Okay, boomer.

1. Each and every person is descended from Adam, who was made in the image of God. We are one race.

Cool, then Israel didn’t exist. The whole thing is off, and we are to be pitied more than all men. We’ve already dispatched this “one race” garbage etymologically.

2. Each and every person has the exact same problem; original sin is the great equalizer (Rom. 3:23; 5:12-14).

Not only is this not a refutation, but it reinforces the point of heritable qualities in men. We do not inherit Eve’s sin but Adam’s, both as a matter of headship and biology. Adam’s seed was passed down from father to son until this very day, and sin along with it. It is not for nothing that the seed of the Messiah came from the Holy Spirit, and not from a man. The field was flesh, but the seed was not. Understand this point, and the need for any “Immaculate Conception” vanishes.

3. Each and every human being’s worth has been established by nothing less than the very blood of Jesus Christ (Mark 10:45; 1 John 1:5–7).

Does this mean all Cretans are not in fact all liars, evil beasts, and lazy gluttons? This is not an argument.

4. Each and every person is dearly loved by God (John 3:16; 1 John 1:7–9; 1 Tim. 2:4).

Again, not an argument. This is one of the gravest defects in Lutheran doctrine. We are so good at soteriology that whenever we get confused or frightened, we begin spouting platitudes about it, no matter how irrelevant they are to the matter at hand. Matt and all his Marxist co-religionists want you to believe that noticing any racial distinctions is hatred, and Satan knows exactly how to plow that lie through the Christmas parade like a speeding truck. Matt wants you to believe that if it is true that Africans have substantially lower IQs (they do), then Jesus didn’t die for them. We all have to be exactly the same for God to love us, apparently. No, that’s not how any of this works. God distributes His blessings unequally, and God visits the sins of the fathers onto the sons. This has physical consequences. To deny this is to deny our weekly confession that we deserve God’s temporal and eternal punishment. Look again at how often Jesus speaks of who will be first and who will be last in the Kingdom of Heaven. Then find how many times He says, “actually, you are all equal.”

With 5,700 active pastors and 20,000 teachers and other church workers daily preaching and teaching that violence and discrimination are sinful, even with our weaknesses, the LCMS is a powerhouse of clear teaching of love and respect for all people.

Again with the three card Monty. Matt’s entire lie rests on your belief that racism equals violence. If by discrimination, he meant the partiality of James, that would at least be one true statement in this hot mess. But it is of course not true. I discriminate between the potential bodily harm I face from a 18 year old African man versus an 80 year old grandmother, because I am well aware of crime statistics, and I’m not retarded. Matt says I will go to Hell if I don’t repent. I say I will live longer and prosper for living wisely. Proverbs agrees with me. As to the LCMS being a “powerhouse of clear teaching,” that can only be true if nobody else in Synod sounds anything like this embarrassing disaster. Sadly that is not the case.

I am going to ask some of our theologians to give a biblical response to critical theory and to equip our people with resources to navigate these challenging times. We are already working with one of our Concordia universities to create a curriculum that will address unity and diversity from a thoroughly biblical perspective; once ready, we will make it available to other Concordias too. This fall, the Making Disciples for Life conference will engage these topics, and I encourage you to attend.

If this were the only content in the article, and I knew nothing else about Matt, this would actually be heartening. But there can be no doubt that this pack of lies is what will be considered “a thoroughly biblical perspective.”

The church cannot follow the world. The church should not get itself balled up in secular policy debates when the Bible does not clearly mandate one Christian response. The Christian lives in two realms, state and church. Christians recognize this country has a tragic history of state-sponsored racism. We also note with thanksgiving how much progress the nation has made. Christians as citizens should involve themselves in the secular/political world as appropriate to their vocations. Christians should vote. Christians will not always come to the same conclusions on these matters. Christians walk according to Micah 6:8: “What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”

This final paragraph is almost unfathomably evil. The LCMS has absolutely followed the world on race and slavery, getting “itself balled up in secular policy debates when the Bible does not clearly mandate one Christian response.” Walther’s sound theological argument against the atheistic, anarchistic abolitionists is today repudiated by most pretenders to his church, especially Matt. The only “progress this nation (sic) has made” has been Satanic. We are an exponentially more wicked, depraved, and godless Nation than 100, 200, or 300 years ago. This is indeed “progress” in Matt’s Satanic religion. What a remarkably perverse paragraph, attempting to bind our consciences not to invoke God’s eternal Will on the most pressing moral matters of our age, while simultaneously wielding false sins from his false god in condemnation of our fathers, a clear violation of the 4th Commandment, among several. Jesus Christ was nailed to the Cross for that paragraph.

Meanwhile, the church has THE antiracist policy — the Gospel.

This conclusion bookends perfectly the title of this dumpster fire, “The sin of racism: A Gospel response.” A good friend pointed out something very profound. All of these Marxist sympathizers like Matt who import imaginary sins like racism and slavery do not actually rely on God’s Law to condemn them. Sure, they’ll twist and abuse a few irrelevant prooftexts as we’ve seen above. But the main thrust of their condemnation of these Satanically-originated “sins” is always the Gospel. Think about that for a minute. There are a lot of problems with the nonsense downstream from mishandling Lex Semper Accusat. But in this dark post-Enlightenment age, we have theologians using the Gospel to damn men, including pillars of the Faith. I don’t know if anyone has even characterized what sort of infernal blasphemy is “I accuse and condemn you by the power of the Gospel.” It’s honestly too much to wrap my mind around. But here we see Matt doing it, and not for the first time.

The LCMS’s membership has declined by a catastrophic 20% in Matt’s 12 years as President. This exceeds the sum of all previous declines since membership peaked in 1970. We like to sadly shake our heads and knowingly allude to passing showers, but the truth is that God is removing our lampstand for our unfaithfulness. If Lutherans did not defy the historic Christian doctrines on divorce, contraception, and women’s submission, we would still be growing. You can tell which pastors are faithful on contraception because they have seven kids. God blesses those who obey Him, and God curses those who disobey. The temporal punishment for the sin of contraception is that it works. If every pastor were publicly contradicting the CTCR’s 1981 “Human Sexuality: A Theological Perspective,” we would be growing. It’s as simple as that. “Demographics” isn’t some invisible force with inertia or a will of its own. Human behavior has real world consequences. And all human behavior is either obedience to God or it is sin. Matt and most other pastors on the roster lie about what those sins are, and so God justly leaves us to wither and die in the sun.

Matt spoke at the Oklahoma District convention in June, where he went on at length about his joy that Germans are being genocided and replaced by Turks, because some of the invaders are purportedly becoming Lutheran. Lutherans who confess to the Book of Concord hold as a matter of doctrine that the Turk is “that most atrocious, hereditary, and ancient enemy of the Christian name and religion.” The Satanic inversion Matt personifies could not be more stark. He is equally thrilled at how much money we are pouring into overseas missions, even while our neighbors and our own families go to Hell because we do not find them worthy of “missions” unless they’re non-White. There’s ample funding in the LCMS for an “inner city” (always code for non-White) liberation theology “church,” but don’t bother if you live someplace with heritage Americans.

God says, “But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” And this is only referring to bodily needs. How much more so must this doctrine apply to our relatives’ Salvation? Our relatives radiate in concentric circles from our immediate family through third and fourth cousins and eventually reach its Scriptural and biological outer limits with our Nation, our race. Paul said he would willingly go to Hell for the sake of saving his Jewish brothers. He made no such offer to the Greeks or Romans or any of the other aliens to whom he devoted his life of preaching. His love was properly ordered. Matt has prioritized the salvation of everyone but his own race, and the race of 96% of the LCMS. We have no choice but to say he has denied the Faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

Any reader who condemns the tone of this essay, or its public nature, or the anonymity of its author, does so in error. Carefully read and understand the sainted Dr. Marquart’s words on such typical modern charges of “lovelessness,” and the proper and necessary public rebuke of public error. The doctrinal errors of everyone mentioned by name in this article are a matter of public record. The whole church is implicated by the false teachings of these pastors. As to my anonymity, such hand-wringing reminds me of the Pharisees, who said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” The pastors of our Synod are either in agreement with Matt’s lies, or they are complicit by their silence. Who am I? I am the stone that cries out.

“For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.”
